The crypto-phishing service Angel Drainer has suspended its operations after cybersecurity researchers from Match Systems managed to identify its organizers. The specialists reported that they continue to investigate theft incidents related to Angel Drainer and are ready to assist victims of the malware."Two hours after our publication about the de-anonymization of the Angel Drainer participants, their Telegram channel announced the suspension of the service," the researchers said in a statement.Angel Drainer, which offered tools for stealing cryptocurrencies for a commission of 20% and an initial deposit ranging from $5,000 to $10,000, emerged in August 2023.According to experts from Blockaid, over $25 million was stolen from 35,000 users through this service. In particular, Angel Drainer is linked to attacks on Ledger Connect Kit and EigenLayer.Representatives from Match Systems stated that they continue to examine cases of theft involving Angel Drainer and will provide assistance to affected users.These measures highlight the importance of cybersecurity efforts and the support for victims of cybercrime.
