OKX has chosen Malta as its headquarters in the EU and decided to leave Nigeria.Exchange OKX has selected Malta as its hub in the EU to comply with the new regional MiCA regulations, citing the jurisdiction's "softer regulatory approach." This information was reported by CoinDesk, citing informed sources.In May 2023, the organization announced that France would be its preferred hub. OKX's local division received registration from the AMF regulator in December.The exchange is seeking candidates for several key positions in Malta, including the roles of Head of Regulatory Compliance, Chief Operations Officer, and Head of Internal Audit.Separately, it was reported that OKX has decided to cease operations in Nigeria.The main reason for discontinuing services in the country, according to platform representatives, is "recent changes in local laws and regulations."The exchange has set August 16 as the deadline for accessing its functions. After this date, users will only be able to access the platform to withdraw funds or close positions.
